Starting a new job tomorrow. They say a change is as good as a holiday. Must be one of those holidays where you have to work. This is to commemorate the elaborate and time consuming test I did over 3 weeks to get it…
I started doing some work in Photoshop to colour it, but the further I went, the less I liked it. Partly because it looked crap, but largely because reworking with a tablet seems so sterile and redundant.
I’m not quite sure what I’m trying to do at the moment. Loving the flat and sketchy stylised parts, but jamming them up against “realistic” rendered stuff. Definitely loving the markers and ink experimenting, but am I creating full tonal images, or just creating texture to layer in Photoshop?
Funnily enough, I’m halfway through a big picture working coloured markers and pencils into the grey. I’d just said to myself – “this is too much hard work, have to start doing all the colour digitally.” Maybe I’m just feeling lazy!

Where are you working now, Dirty? Same kind of stuff? Are you an Art Director yet? 😉
